There are many cities in Europe that are perfect for discovering, you can go from the big metropolises, university cities, coastal towns…
From culture, history, and natural beauty, these places have something for everyone. These are my favorite cities to travel to
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Croatia has been gaining popularity in recent years. That’s right! It is where you will find a wonderful climate, with more than 2,500 hours of sunshine a year, beautiful cultural cities, picturesque ports, stunning nature and hundreds of islands.
Croatia may not be the first place you think of for a sunny vacation, and yet the coast is incredibly beautiful. And the good thing is that since many of the most beautiful cities are along the coast, it is worth a road trip!
Budapest
Budapest is one of those cities that manages to take your breath away every time you visit it. Aside from the natural beauty that filters through the city in the form of the majestic Danube River and gorgeous green spaces, the buildings themselves also add to the air of lavishness. Architecturally, the city is a treasure trove, with enough baroque, neoclassical, eclectic and art nouveau buildings to satisfy everyone.
Rome
Rome is a city that oozes history, culture and art. It is a city with a strong sense of identity and pride towards its ancient Roman roots.
It’s also a city with a modern twist, a thriving art scene and a diverse population, making it a vibrant and exciting place to visit.
As one of the most visited cities in the world, Rome is also one of the most photographed. However, when you visit it you will realize that many of the incredible views are very different:
The Trevi Fountain seems much bigger than you imagined The Spanish Steps is even more beautiful; and the Colosseum is even more colossal.
Barcelona
Barcelona is a city passionate about life. It is a city where people love to celebrate everything from art to sports. It is a city that bursts with energy during its many annual festivals. It is a city proud of its culture, its architecture and its people.
Barcelona is a city that welcomes everyone, whatever their age or origin. It is a city that is relaxed and easy-going, but at the same time brimming with energy. Barcelona is one of the largest cities in Spain, it has a Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers.
It is best to visit between May and October, avoiding the months of July and August, when the city is full of tourists and temperatures can exceed 40 degrees.
Hamburg
Whatever the reason for your visit, Hamburg will not disappoint. It is a truly unique city that showcases the best of German culture and history, but also has a modern twist.
Hamburg is Germany’s most visited port city and one of the main gateways to Scandinavia and Northern Europe. It has a population of over 1.8 million people, making it the second largest city in Germany. It is also the richest city in the country and one of the greenest, thanks to its countless parks and green spaces.
Amsterdam
The Netherlands is one of those countries that many people tend to overlook, whether for a short or longer vacation. It is a country that is often overlooked because it does not have the same appeal as other European destinations.
However, the Netherlands is a country that is much more than tulips and windmills. It is a country that offers something for everyone, a country full of surprises and a country that is certainly worth visiting.
Paris
When it comes to visiting Paris, there are many reasons to visit the most romantic city in the world. From the ease of getting to the French capital, the rich and opulent history of the city, to the change of seasons.
Loved for its bread, pastries, macarons, and more, France is famous for its food. Unabashedly indulgent, Parisians are aware of patisseries, bakeries, and boucheries on every corner, and as the capital of culture, Paris boasts a bountiful gastronomic offering.
London
Whether you’re looking for art or architecture, food or football, London has become a genuinely amazing city over its 2,000-year history.
London is famous for its art, architecture, food and fashion, some of which it does better than anywhere else in the world.
Big Ben, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the list goes on and on. There’s nothing quite like the experience of boarding a red double-decker bus and seeing some of the world’s most recognizable sights from its upper deck.
Copenhagen
Copenhagen is a unique city, characterized by its canals, cycling culture, strong economy and happy people.
Beyond being the happiest city in the world, Copenhagen is home to excellent Danish cuisine, a superb transportation system, impressive churches and museums, and even a hippie commune that attracts foreign visitors from around the world.
The heart of Copenhagen is the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a part of the city that has been preserved and is charming and picturesque. Outside of the old town, Copenhagen is a modern city with many interesting buildings and monuments worth seeing.
Munich
The best way to explore the city is on foot or by bike, with plenty of pedestrian-only streets and picturesque bike paths.
Munich is an ideal place to visit if you like beer, as the annual Oktoberfest beer festival is held here, one of the largest beer festivals in the world.
Munich has a temperate climate, with hot, humid summers and cool, dry winters. This means that the best time to visit Munich is between April and October, when temperatures are mild and there is little rain.
These are some of the most beautiful cities in Europe to visit and that should be on your list of trips to do.
