The historic region of Brittany, in western France, has a unique landscape that this castle benefits from, which is located in Finistère, facing the River Aven. The property, with an imposing turreted limestone façade, was built between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries.
For a long time it was an abandoned building, but now it is a house that combines past and present thanks to a deep rehabilitation that has lasted for more than seven years. During the work, the structure was dismantled stone by stone by a team of seven stonemasons, who created a granite quarry on the farm itself. A glass ceiling illuminates the foyer in the castle’s main tower, which links the 15th-century part to the 18th-century structure by a glass and wrought-iron canopy.
On the main floor there are numerous reception rooms, all equipped with fireplaces, beamed ceilings and large windows with views of the river and garden. The solid stone spiral staircase leads to the upper floors, where there is a wood-panelled library, three offices with custom-made furniture and desks, a dining room and a kitchen by La Cornue (a French brand of classic kitchens from luxury).
It incorporates eight suites. The main one is a good example of that rehabilitation that combines the old and the new, with a bathroom with a spa, a monumental limestone fireplace, double-height beamed ceilings, stone walls and a dressing room. It is equipped with smart technology and geothermal underfloor heating. There are several other rooms on the estate, such as the chapel, the monk’s tower, the reception room, the room for storing honey and the linen dryer, all of which have been restored. There is also a boathouse on the river, a workshop, a garage, the caretaker’s house, the staff’s house and a guest house.
The plot, with 40 hectares of forests and green areas along the river, also has a swimming pool and several themed gardens, including a Japanese one.

Game of volumes in Sitges
Design plays a key role in this single-family house located in the Barcelona town of Sitges. The architect José Antonio Corrales Gutiérrez manages the volumes, the avant-garde forms and stands out from the more traditional standards. The difference in height between the living room and the dining room is one of the architectural elements that distinguishes the house: on the one hand, it ensures that access to the garden area is at ground level and, on the other, that from a higher position it is You can enjoy the views that the house offers. It has five double bedrooms with their respective bathrooms, three of them en suite. The floors of the house are linked by an elevator that goes from the parking lot with capacity for five vehicles to the top floor, where one of the main bedrooms and the solarium are located.
